Recently, Habitat for Humanity put on a Building Blitz in Northwest Detroit.  Habitat worked with many companies and organizations in an effort to sponsor the building of homes in the area of Schoolcraft and Evergreen.  The sponsoring not only included a monetary commitment, but actual hands on labor in constructing an assigned house.

One of the organizations that helped sponsor and build a house was the Michigan Trial Lawyer's Association.  The Trial Lawyers are a group of attorneys that handle litigation focusing on victims of accidental injuries.

"I want to do more for the community than just practice law"

Attorney Jason Waechter is not only a member of the Michigan Trial Lawyer's Association, he is on the Executive Board.  He spent time helping build a house for a family as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.

Waechter has practiced injury law for years and has been involved in cases that have resulted in millions of dollars for his clients.

The press gave a great deal of coverage to the story.  This is refreshing since the media normally casts attorneys in a negative light.
